Custom Software Development & Interfaces
We develop software modules and interfaces for your existing application, with source code and documentation.
When custom software makes sense
- A process cannot be mapped with standard software, or only with workarounds.
- Two applications need to exchange data that is currently transferred by hand.
- An existing application needs a new feature without being replaced.
- A component is too slow or hard to maintain.
What we implement, for example
Backend modules
New services and features for your existing application, with defined external interfaces.
Interfaces between applications
APIs and connections between business applications, such as your shop, inventory management system, CRM or in-house software. Integrating interfaces and APIs
Data synchronisation
Batch jobs or event-driven synchronisation between systems, reconciled against expected values.
Extensions to existing software
New features for existing applications, based on the agreed technical documentation, interfaces or code components provided.
Performance optimisation
Measure bottlenecks with profiling and fix them. High-Performance
AI features
Summarisation, search or classification as a feature in your application. AI & Data
For SAP, see SAP & ERP.
What makes an interface hold up in production
We define these points for each interface.
Data contract
Structure, required fields and valid status transitions are documented.
One adapter per system
If a system changes, this mainly affects its adapter. The process logic usually stays untouched.
Error categories
Technical errors, business rejections and unknown outcomes are handled separately.
Idempotency
Repeating the same operation should not create duplicate transactions.
Reconciliation
Counts, totals and samples also find gaps that raise no error.
Traceability
A correlation ID links event, processing and document across all systems.
How the result is measured
Acceptance criteria include, for example, the data an interface delivers or the response time of a module.
EXAMPLE · SHOP AND INVENTORY SYSTEM
What a project can look like
- Your input
- Description of the shop and inventory management system interfaces, sample data for products and stock levels, required synchronisation frequency.
- Result
- Stock levels and prices are synchronised automatically between shop and inventory management system, tested with the agreed test data.
Illustrative example of a possible project.
ALREADY DELIVERED · FROM OUR PARTNER NETWORK
Aspirits delivered write access to 22 external APIs with human-in-the-loop approval. The reviews uncovered three third-party defects.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you need access to our production systems?
- Usually not. We develop with test data and mock services for your interfaces.
- Which programming languages do you use?
- The language depends on your existing application.
- Can existing applications be extended without rewriting them?
- Usually, yes. The new feature is built as a separate component with defined interfaces.
