PROCESS
From audit to fix
01 Audit
We test the agreed pages and user flows and document every barrier we find.
02 Action plan
Each finding gets a priority and technical guidance for the fix.
03 Fixes in the code
On request you receive a statement of work and a separate quote. Seovantis implements the agreed corrections.
04 Testing before handover
The corrected pages are tested again, automatically and by hand. Where agreed, you receive before-and-after evidence.
Fixes are offered separately and are not included in the audit price. What can be changed depends on the system in use and the access rights.
What we test in an accessibility audit
| Area | What is tested |
|---|---|
| Keyboard and focus | Whether the agreed functions work without a mouse and the focus stays visible |
| Screen readers | Whether NVDA and VoiceOver announce content, controls and status messages |
| Forms and error messages | Labels, required fields, input assistance and error messages |
| Contrast and presentation | Colour contrast and controls, also with enlarged text |
| Navigation and page structure | Headings, link names and focus order |
| Zoom and reflow | Whether the page stays usable at 200% text size and reflows without horizontal scrolling at 320 CSS pixels |
The depth of testing depends on the package you choose.
What you receive after the audit
- Overview of the pages and functions tested
- Documentation of every barrier found
- Mapping to the relevant WCAG success criterion
- Prioritisation by severity
- Screenshots or other evidence
- Specific guidance for the fix
The report is structured so that your development team can follow the findings and schedule them directly.

BFSG and WCAG in brief
As of 8 October 2026
Germany’s Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) has applied since 28 June 2025 to online shops and many digital services. We test against WCAG 2.1 levels A and AA, the basis of EN 301 549. Whether the law applies to your company is a question for your legal counsel.
Frequently asked questions
- What is an accessibility audit?
- A structured technical test of a website or web application for digital barriers. Testing follows fixed criteria, and every finding is documented.
- Is an automated test enough?
- No. Automated tools find only some of the barriers. Manual testing is therefore part of every audit, depending on the package also with keyboard and screen reader.
- How do the Quick Check and the Professional Audit differ?
- The Quick Check is a limited initial assessment of three pages; the Professional Audit covers up to eight page types and describes measures for every finding.
- Does an audit make my website accessible?
- The audit finds and documents barriers. Fixing them is a separate order.
- Can Seovantis also fix the barriers?
- Yes, as a separate order.
- How long does an audit take?
- Quick Check 3 business days, Professional Audit 7 business days, Comprehensive Audit 10 business days. The turnaround starts once the order and all access details are in place.
- Do you need access to my website?
- For public pages the web address is enough. For customer accounts, registration or checkout we need a test account.
- Is the test report a BFSG certificate?
- No. The audit is a technical test, not a legal certification and not a guarantee of full BFSG conformity.
